FCZG Board Statement on COVID Vaccination Policy

After careful consideration, the Forest City Zen Group Board of Directors has decided that until further notice, only fully vaccinated practitioners will be permitted to attend in-person zazen and other in-person group events.
We need to ensure a safe environment for our practitioners. With the new highly infectious delta variant, we are concerned that even when sitting outside, infection could occur between people sitting directly next to each other. Fully vaccinated people are much less likely to be infected than the non-vaccinated, but if they do get COVID, they could spread the virus to their families and friends, some of whom might be vulnerable and become seriously ill. By limiting in-person practice events to the fully vaccinated we are mimimizing the risk of this happening as best we can. We feel ambivalent about having to do this, as we like the group to be as inclusive as possible, but until the pandemic is over, we feel we need to err on the side of caution to protect the members of Forest City Zen Group and their families.
